Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is a group of wonderfully trained teenagers with a professional sound. This group is a direct product of the Jazz Prep program, an Outreach administrated by Steckman Studio of Music and sponsored in part by the Oak Park Area Arts Council, in partnership with the Village of Oak Park, Forest Park and River Forest, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation, and RBC Dain Rauscher, as well as by individual contributors.
By hiring this group, you are making a contribution to help keep scholarships available to students with financial need.
After Five Music
After Five, a band led by Dave Gessner, a piano teacher with Steckman Studio of Music, has a flexible repertoire to suit most needs. Available for weddings and private parties, solo pianist or an entire band. |
There are wonderful things in real jazz, the talent for improvisation, the liveliness, the being at one with the audience.

Dr. Steckman (Pianist)
Dr. Harry M. Steckman plays all styles and requests-Bach to Beatles, Beach Boys to Broadway. He has been playing for families and friends for years including many "nites" at Chicago's famous hotels and cocktail lounges. He knows all types of ethnic music and is wonderful with a "sing-along." Laura Manning (Singer, Songwriter)
Laura Manning has over forty years of singing and songwriting experience.
Miss Manning sings in several languages, and her repertoire includes songs in every genre. She will tailor a show to your needs and write special material if required.
Her concerts usually feature original material which is comedic in nature. |

Kathy has taught Early Childhood music classes at the studio since the fall of 1998 and piano lessons since the summer of 1999. She is a
